Receiving a geospatial survey delivery
Your surveyor has delivered a release of survey deliverables to your organisation, or sent you a link. Here is what receiving costs you, what you have to do, how long you can download it, and what the receipt proves.
What each organisation does
The surveying organisation
- Publishes the survey as a numbered release with a checksum.
- Delivers that release to your organisation by the code you gave them, or sends you an expiring link, and sets how long you may download it.
- Keeps the files on their own storage until they delete them permanently, and can extend your access period free of charge.
Your organisation
- Create a free organisation (during the beta, ask support for an access code). Give your surveyor your organisation code: Settings › Organisation › Connections.
- Sign in and open the delivery. Accepting it is optional and changes nothing about what you can download.
- Review the release in the browser and download the files, as one archive or one at a time. Check the saved files against the release’s file list and arrange survey-accuracy checks with your surveyor.
What receiving costs
Nothing. Receiving a delivery uses none of your storage and is refused on no plan, and opening a link needs no account at all; the files sit on the surveyor’s organisation and count against theirs. The one thing not available on your side today is copying the release into your own account, below.
How does a client open a delivery?
If the delivery was made to your organisation, you sign in to it with your own account; access belongs to your organisation, and who inside it may open the delivery is decided by the roles you set. If the surveyor sent a link, open it: there is no account to create. A link expires, the sender can end it at any time, and a link tied to one email address asks for a one-time code sent to that address.
How long you can download
The surveyor sets the access period when sending: a year by default, up to two years. They can extend it later at no cost. Ask them if you need longer. Downloading everything does not end the access period: you may keep downloading until it ends or the surveyor deletes the files.
What a receipt proves
When every file has finished downloading, both organisations get a signed receipt, kept for as long as Alonstech operates GISweaver. It names the two organisations, the release and its publication date, and every file with its size and SHA-256 checksum. Check the files you saved against the release’s file list; the receipt does not confirm usable local copies.
The receipt records that every file finished downloading. Whether the survey is accurate and fit for your purpose is a matter between you and the organisation that published it.
Keeping a copy in your own organisation
Not yet. No plan includes this today.
Support, exports and continuity
Ask your surveyor about survey content, corrections or a longer access period. Contact GISweaver support for account or download problems. Save the files before your delivery access ends and check them against the file list. The Terms describe export rights and continuity limits; beta availability is not guaranteed.
